Fariza Ongarsynova
(25.12.1939)

1.      Fariza Ongarsynova is the author of multiple verses, essays, stories and short novels
2.     Fariza Ungarsynova was born on December 25, 1939 in the village Manash of the Novobogatinskiy district of the Guriyev region.
3.     In 1961 she graduated from the philological faculty of the Guriyev state pedagogical    institute.
4.     Her first collection of poems "Nightingale" was published in 1967.
5.     In 1961-1978 she worked as a teacher of the secondary school, occupied the posts of  director of studies and director.
6.     Many of her works were translated into the world languages:  “The height” (1976), the documentary short-novel “Our Kamshat” (1976), the short novel “The legend about the  grey-haired girl” (1990) and others belong to her.
7.     Fariza Ongarsynova was awarded the Badge of Honor Order, several medals and was given the title of "People's Writer of Kazakhstan".

The Idea of Kazakhstan project «One country-one book» is based on well-known in the USA library projects “One book, one Chicago" and “If All of Seattle Read the Same Book" ”, when the whole city reads the same literary work at the same time.
There within the framework of the republican action “One country – one book” in “Kazakstan kitaptary” department is organized a book exhibition dedicated to the creative activity of the people’s writer, the winner of the State prize of Kazakhstan Fariza Ungarsynova and the nominated poetical collection “Daua”.
Fariza Ongarsynova was born on December 25, 1939 in the village Manash of the Novobogatinskiy district of the Guriyev region. In 1961 she graduated from the philological faculty of the Guriyev state pedagogical institute. Her first collection of poems Nightingale" was published in 1967.
In 1961-1978 she worked as a teacher of the secondary school, occupied the posts of director of studies and director. The poetess began her creative career as a literary worker of the Atyrau regional newspaper “Kommunistik enbek”, as own correspondent of the newspaper “Leninshyl zhas” for the Aktyubinsk, Atyrau, Uralsk regions. In 1970-1977 she is chief editor of the newspaper “Kazakstan pionery” (now “Ulan”), in 1978-1996 – chief editor of the magazine “Pioner” (now “Akzhelken”). The first poetic book “Sandugash” by F.Ongarsynova was published in 1966.
F.Ongarsynova is the author of multiple verses, essays, stories and short novels, which are known far beyond the boundaries of the country. A special place in the creative activity are occupied by prosaic works. The main themes in her creative activity are love and hate, courage and cowardice, good and evil.
Many of her works were translated into the world languages. Also the collection of artistic essays “The height” (1976), the documentary short-novel “Our Kamshat” (1976), the short novel “The legend about the grey-haired girl” (1990) and others belong to her.
F. Ongarsynova even today makes her contribution into the development of Kazakhstani poetry, she is chief editor of the Republican literary – artistic magazine “Tumar”.
The poetical collection “Daua” by the decision of the jury of the republican action ‘One country – one book” is acknowledged as the chief book for universal reading in 2013, and which consist of lyrical verses written in different years. There in the book is created the image of the woman, whose weight of social and civil responsibility is becoming heavier with each day and and more significant at the background of all-human truths. The first one strives towards the summits of human everyday life, the second one sees infinity and hopelessness.
F.Ongarsynova is a deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the RK of the 1-st and 2-nd convocations (1996-2004). The winner of the State prize of the KazSSR (1979). Champion of people’s education (1985). She has been awarded with the orders “Badge of Honour” (1984), “Parasat” (2001), “Dostyk” (2009), with medals and Honorary certificates of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the KazSSR.
For outstanding merits for the Motherland Fariza Ongarsynova was awarded the Badge of Honor Order, several medals and was given the title of "People's Writer of Kazakhstan".
People who are writing poems are not ordinary persons. They think of the problems, grief and joy which have no connection with them. I am that person who has always wished welfare to my nation and country", F. Ongarsynova says.
